The craftsmen perform ensure that the clay is compact and does not contain air bubbles. After they shape, mold, and flatten the clay, they store the clay in a cool dry place until it is ready for the kiln. Once the tiles are dried, they are then dipped in pigment. The Moroccan tiles are then placed inside earthen kilns to fire the glaze. Handmade Moroccan Zellige tiles come in more than 39 intense colors with a wide range of shades and sizes.
