POUR. PRESS. PATINA.

Zia's encaustic cement tiles are handmade using techniques established by French and Catalan craftspeople in the 1850s. Each tile is individually hand-poured into a steel mold with high-quality natural mineral pigments, then pressed so the pigmented surface layer becomes part of the tile itself. Unlike ceramic tile, cement tile is never fired — it air dries.

The naturally matte surface and subtle color variation reflect the handmade nature of each tile. Subtle variations in size, color, tone, and thickness are inherent in handmade encaustic cement and should be expected across an order. Available in squares, hexagons, and mosaic layouts across a wide range of solid colors and geometric patterns, Zia's cement tile collection suits surfaces in residential and commercial spaces alike.
