Nestled in Mar Vista, Annie and David Raysse’s home is anything but ordinary. The couple remodeled every surface of 1929 English-style cottage with the help of Mason St. Peter. A pitch black exterior with a light and tasteful interior featuring white oak floors and tiled bathrooms, this home is the epitome of thinking outside of the box. With this unique canvas, the Raysse’s turned to custom design and finishings—including our encaustic, cement tile.
Annie and David drew inspiration from our Bishop tile but wanted to make the space even more personal with their own take on the design. Annie drew inspiration from a hotel in Italy that her family has been visiting for decades. The inspiration piece is in a green and black color way. We switched it up using empire blue and white instead and shrunk the tile down to a 4 x 4” size. Combined with the white subway tile on the walls, the contrasting floor detailing is absolutely striking—much like the entire home.
Our customers keep our creativity flowing with their pattern choices and visions. We bring these ideas to life with our high quality tile and make your space worthy of the front cover. Check out their Curbed LA feature here.
